Zoning Administrator's Report
Trevor has written three building
project permits in the last month.
The Township’s lawyers are working to
get an administrative search warrant, for Trevor and one witness to make one
visit to the Russell Bates property to verify if the trailers are still
there. There has been no new contact
with Mr. Bates, nor has there been a complaint from neighbors in the last
couple years.
The Township’s lawyers are also still
working to get us the money from the fines collected in the above-mentioned
zoning violation. It is necessary that
we get the process straightened out now for collection and allocation of fines
before possible future actions.
Report of Township Board Representative
Dale stated that the Township Board
needs to know our projected budget for 2011-2012 fiscal year, so they can
finish their budget. The Planning
Commission decided to go with the same figure as for the previous year; $5,500.
Dale also stated that the Township Board
is looking for another member from the Planning Commission to join the roads
projects subcommittee with him.
Update on the Recreation Plan
Mike says that the recreation plan is
out of the Planning Commission’s hands now.
It has been adopted by the Village and the Township, and is in the grant
seeking stages.
In discussion, the Planning Commission
members agree that it is time to take on the next project(s). Two ordinances that have been proposed and
worked on in the past, Adult Business and Signage, will be revisited to see if
there is support for adopting either of these new ordinances.
Phil Potvin stepped in to say hi, and to
remind people to vote Nov. 2nd. Phil is the 102nd District
Representative Republican Candidate.
Bill made a motion to adjourn the
meeting at 7:56 p.m., Keenus seconded - motion carried.
Action items:
- Trevor will follow through with our
lawyers on the administrative search warrant and the proper allocation of
zoning fines.
- Dale will report to the Township Board
that the Planning Commission requests the same budget allowance for our next
fiscal year.
- Trevor will compile information
gathered in the past on an adult business ordinance, and about a signage
ordinance - and Brian will compile information from the minutes over the last
several years where the Planning Commission discussed either of these two
ordinances.
Next meeting; January 10th, 2011, 6:30
p.m.
