Special Meeting

Art Moyses called the meeting to order at 5:45pm at the LeRoy Township Hall.

Motion was made by Heather to approve the agenda, supported by Dale. All Ayes motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS
Road Millage – The purpose of this meeting is to approve the wording that is to go on the ballot for the August 3, 2010 election.
Art explained that we should go two or four years for the
road millage, and all fund will be used for
Heather thinks we should do two years and not four, that maybe if people see the improvements in those two years then they would be more willing to renew it.
Art stated he would like it to be every four years so it does not have to be renewed as often.
Dale stated he believes we should do 1 mile for four years so the public would not have so much in taxes and they could see what we could do with that and then maybe increase it later.
Motion made by Heather to do 2 mils for 2 years, supported by Stacie. Dale – yes, Art – yes, Heather – yes and Stacie – yes.
Shall the tax limitation on general
ad valorem taxes within LeRoy Township, Osceola County, imposed under article
IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution, be increased by said Township by 2
mills ($2.00 per $1,000 taxable value) for the period 2010 to 2011, inclusive,
for the purpose of road maintenance and improvements and shall the township
levy such increase in millage for said purpose, thereby raising each year
approximately $60,000. All funds from this millage will be used in
