Julie called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Motion to accept the minutes of the February 14,2007 regular meeting with an amendment was made by Julie, Tania supported.  Motion carried.  Amendment:  “adjourn” instead of “acorn”

No one could figure what was meant by “Bike be eliminated from Wheel Chair Path”.  We will try and find clarification.

Motion to approve agenda with addition was made by Julie, Tania supported.  Motion carried.  The addition was Brian with his survey.

Tania talked with Todd Holmes concerning possible use of his building for various classes, that Mary Holmes might be interested in participating.  Todd said he thought something could be worked out.  Tania talked with her aunt, Beverly Williams, about quilting and bobbin lace for class/demonstration sessions.

Brian could not give his report because the Chamber of Commerce did not hold their meeting.  He will attend the next one.

Elise and Sue (from the library) are going to meet and discuss program possibilities.  Some people in the community have books and films they would like to make available for use by others.  Elise checked with Sue to see if there was any room at the library, there isn’t.

Brian talked to Doug about the horseshoe pits.  Doug was glad interest is being shown for this project.

We discussed ways to include the elderly.  Twice a week the Methodist church is open as a meal site for seniors.  Possibly there could be an exercise program incorporated with this.  We must also remember our seniors as a valuable resource in community activities.

Brian handed out copies of a map of LeRoy he had made with local businesses marked.  Brian will get the committee some copies of a new local map that is now available.  He feels we should use LeRoy as a center and involve surrounding communities in our plans and get them involved in various activities.  He stressed Rose Lake Township, as they do not have a town of their own.

We must not forget the kids as a valuable resource, high school shop class, 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.

Discussed the possibility of moving some picnic tables from the new pavilion to the old pavilion to make room for activities under the new pavilion, i.e. shuffleboard.

It was noted the Edstrom families may donate some land along Mackinaw Trail to the Village.  Should this occur, in the future we may be able to put a boardwalk through the wetland that was handicap accessible.

Brian handed out copies of a survey he compiled.  He said he would only be able to attend one more meeting and then would hand in his resignation.  He enjoys working with the recreation committee but feels he is being stretched to thin.  Brian wanted someone to take over rounding out the survey, Betty volunteered.  Julie thanked Brian for all his help and that he will be missed.  Others echoed this sentiment.

Julie apologized for the agenda not getting out early.

Elise and Tania thanked Brian for his work on the survey.  Elise made a motion we move forward on the survey, Tania supported.  Motion carried.

Included on the next agenda will be the following reports:  Carole, card playing night and contact with area churches; Ken J, horseshoe pits, Betty, response from Village Council.

Discussed posting information through Ann Lockhart or Dan Massy on the Internet.

Betty was asked to take some questions to the Village meeting later in the evening and report back with any information/answers they might give.

Betty made a motion to adjourn, Tania supported.  Motion carried.

Julie adjourned the meeting at 6:29 p.m.
