Board Members present: Sarah Blackledge, Peggy Hoard, Bev Orvis, Patricia Michell and Don Williams.

Don Williams called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The 2008-2009 budgets were presented. Adjustments were made. Bev made a motion to adopt the budget as revised. Peggy 2nd the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried.
Don adjourned the budget meeting at 9:30.
Don opened the other business meeting at 9:31
Don acknowledged guest Bill Johnson. Bill asked the Board if they would use padded, stackable chairs for the Boards to use. He said SAMS had them for $19.00 each. Pat, Bev, Sarah and Don said no. Peggy said she would. Bill suggested the Board rent out the vacant cemeteries 10 acres of land for farming. He stated this would keep the land clear of trees and shrubs and also produce some income for the Township. Bill reported that the Board of Review went very well except that the computer would not work.
The minutes were read and approved.
Treasurer reported we have $67,828.94 in checking after paying the bills today, plus $10.00 in savings.
Bev made a motion to pay checks 4449-4456 and 4046-4058. Sarah 2nd the motion. All were in favor and motion passed.
Old Business:
Don stated he had contacted Attorney White. Mr. White would like to attend the next Township meeting and address the Board re: Zoning. Don will arrange this.
It was questioned if the Township pays the Fire Dept. a percent on the assessed value or the taxable value. Pat will check on this.
Peggy obtained Net one for the internet service. By paying for one year there was a savings of $3.00 a month. Peggy stated that the software for the cemetery record keeping arrived.
New Business:
Don mentioned the poverty guidelines need to be examined and rewritten. Don and Peggy will draft new policies and present them at the May Board meeting. The Board of Review will be invited to attend and give their input on the policy.
Don and Peggy will draft the wording for the additional mileage for roads and present it at the May Board meeting.
Don reported 36
people came in to the Board of Review.
Don gave the Clerk copies of the documents. Don said he would like to obtain the Ag. Land
maps of the Township. It would cost
about $36.00 and he would like to have them for the July Board of Review
meeting. Peggy made a motion for Don to
obtain the Ag. maps for
Don said Cushman’s Appraisals are interested in doing another year contract for the same price with mileage within the Township and postage and computer fee, and that Cushman’s would have someone here each day of Board of Review. Other bids need to be obtained. Sylvan pays $10.00 per parcel.
Discussion of the water/toilets issue was discussed. Peggy made a motion to have Don check will a well man check our system and fix what ever is wrong. Sarah 2nd the motion. All were in favor and motion passed.
Peggy brought up
the Spring MTA seminar that is being held in
Don will check on the harvesting of the pine trees on the Township property between the two cemeteries.
